It should be no surprise to anyone that there is great competition for your internet/satellite/cable/phone business. Whether you subscribe to any or none of them, these companies are going to try to woo you through the mail, on TV commercials, and via online ads. There just seems to be no escaping!
For the last couple of months I’ve been trying to find a way to stop receiving mail from Time Warner Cable. I’m not a customer of theirs so I’m guessing they’d like me to switch and sign up with them. Not going to happen right now! I’ve searched their site for any way to opt out of receiving mail from them with no luck at all. I did, however, find a post on the Time Warner Cable forum that looks promising.
According to Julia R., if you contact them directly and request to be removed from their mailing list, they will be happy to help. She provided 3 methods for contacting them:
- Via email at TWCable.Help@twcable.com
- Via Twitter at @TWC_Help or
- Via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/messages/twc
I have started with the first option. I will report back with the results as soon as I have them.
Update: Within 24 hours I received an email back from the Social Media Customer Care team stating they have forwarded my request to the privacy team to update their marketing databases. This may take up to 80 days, so I will report back again with my findings. Stay tuned!
