Clipper Magazine (ClipperMagazine) is a magazine-style coupon mailer delivered to 30 states across the country. Depending on your location you may receive the Savvy Shopper, Mint Magazine, Rewards Magazine, Marketplace and/or Home & Decor IDEAS.

The GREEN Facts

According to the ClipperMagazine website, there are 389 local editions delivered between 8 to 12 times per year, 145 regional supplements delivered between 8 to 12 times per year, and national supplements included with the other publications delivered 6 times per year. Added all up and it’s a lot of paper being delivered each year to approximately 29 million homes!

With one simple step you can remove your address from the ClipperMagazine database. Just go to their mailing removal page on the website and enter your name and address in the space provided. Make sure you have your most recent magazine so you can enter your information exactly as it shows on the back of the Clipper Magazine.

Their printing lead time seems a little long so you may still receive mailings for up to 3 more months.

Stop Pennysaver Delivery

Ah, the Pennysaver. A staple of our mailboxes for so so so many years.  If you’re not familiar with the Pennysaver, it is a newsprint catalog that includes a combination of user submitted classified ads and local business ads. The Pennysaver has been around since the Great Depression.

If you are a Florida resident you are probably also familiar with TheFlyer. TheFlyer has joined the Pennysaver network so this article will help you stop delivery of both the Pennysaver and TheFlyer.

Both of these publications claim they are “The Best LOCAL Values — In Print and Online.” So if these values are available online there’s really no reason to receive a copy online.

Stop Pennysaver DeliveryPennysaverUSA doesn’t make it easy to find their opt out request form to stop delivery of the Pennysaver or TheFlyer. You have to go to the bottom of the web page, click on Help & FAQ under Resources, then find the question you’re looking for under the Mailing List section. Then they give you the option to read the fact sheet from Mail Moves America that tells you the junk mail isn’t really that bad. Then finally you get to the form! Finally!

Or, you can go directly to the form by clicking on this link: www.pennysaverusa.com/mailinglist/. The form does ask for your name and email as well as your address. For best results enter your address information exactly as it appears on the back of the Pennysaver.

I just recently submitted my request to have the Pennysaver stopped. Like other publications it does take a few weeks (approximately 6-8) for delivery of the Pennysaver to stop.

You Can Stop LA Times Local Values Delivery

I have just recently moved back to California so I am experiencing the joy of stopping junk mail all over again! Because I am now in a different state I am also coming across mailers I have not seen before. The latest item to hit the mailbox is the Los Angeles Times Local Values.

This little gem is delivered every Friday, and according to the LA Times Media Kit website, it is distributed to 95% of households in the LA market or about 4.4 million homes. It is also described as a 4 page wrap with display ads and included inserts.

In order to stop the Local Values delivery, you will need to call 626-472-5242. This is a recorded line where you are asked to either have your named added or removed from the mailing list along with the address and zip code. Make sure you let them know you want to be removed from receiving the Local Values flyer.

The recording also states it takes about 2 weeks for it to work its way through production. I’m not sure if that means 2 weeks for the address to be removed or 2 weeks to stop receiving the flyers. My assumption is the latter, but I will provide an update as soon as I know!

Stop the Coupon Mailers

Most people I know like to save money. And there are plenty of direct mail companies out there to help us in our pursuits of saving the all mighty dollar, but the amount of unsolicited junk mail sent out to help us in our pursuits is enough to drive a person nuts!

What I’m referring to is the multiple envelopes or insert-type mailings you receive on a regular basis. These include coupons for home repairs, dental work, and any sort of product or service you can imagine.

There are many direct mailers that send you these coupon mailers, but with a few simple steps you can be off their lists. The companies listed here are the most prevalent.

ValPak

ValPak envelopeThese are the coupons that come in the blue envelope. You will need the envelope to enter your address information exactly as it appears on the label. To be removed from ValPak mailings, click on this ValPak link. Enter the requested information and press submit.

If you still want to enjoy the savings offered by ValPak you can go to their website at www.ValPak.com and find coupons for your area online. That way you only print the coupons you need.

RedPlum (formerly Advo or ShopWise)

RedPlumRedPlum sends coupon inserts similar to what you find in the Sunday paper. They include the address card that shows pictures of missing children.

There are two options for removing your address from the RedPlum mailing list:

  1. Fill out the form at the RedPlum website, or
  2. Call the Valassis Consumer Assistance Line at 800-437-0479 (between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Eastern)

Removal from the list may take 5-6 weeks. You may still look for local deals through RedPlum at their website, www.RedPlum.com.

special note: The post office is prohibited from delivering unaddressed mail. The RedPlum address card is usually inside the coupons so your mail carrier may still give you a set of coupons without the address card once your name is off the mailing list. If this happens, just let your mail carrier know by leaving a note in your mailbox or talking to them as they pass by.

Money Mailer

Money Mailer is another envelope full of coupons. It comes in a 6″ x 9″ red/white/blue envelope.

You can remove your address from Money Mailer 3 ways. Send your mailing address as shown on the envelope with instructions to be removed from their mailing list and either:

  1. send by U.S. mail to: Money Mailer, 12131 Western Ave., Garden Grove, CA 92841
  2. fax to 714-889-1590
  3. send an email to jlimon@moneymailer.com

Other Local Mailers

There may be additional coupon mailers you receive that aren’t listed here. Look through the mailer to find a website or phone number to get the instructions for being removed from their coupon mailing list. Some of them get a little sneaky so check the fine print along the fold too.

If you continue to have difficulty locating contact information, leave a comment below and tell us about what you’re receiving. Others may be having the same difficulty and we will find a solution together.
