Stop Junk Mail Catalogs

  • Sharebar

Catalogs are a great way to shop from home. They give the opportunity to see a product before it’s actually purchased. Unfortunately, retailers can get carried away and send you an overabundance of unsolicited catalogs or share your information with other catalog providers so you continue to get more and more.

There are several options available to stop or reduce the catalogs you receive.

  1. The fastest way to stop catalog delivery is to contact the company directly. Use the toll-free number, website or address to let them know of your preference to no longer receive their catalog. Some companies may have the option to receive fewer catalogs. Advantage: quickest method to stop your catalogs.
  2. If you created a DMA Choice account already, log in to the catalogs section. Here you will be able to stop all catalogs (at the bottom of the page) from companies looking for new customers. However, if you have already purchased from a company, you will need to contact them directly or request DMA to contact them on your behalf. This method could take up to 90 days for the catalogs to stop coming to you. Advantage: centralized location to stop your catalogs.
  3. Another option for centralized catalog reduction requests is the website www.CatalogChoice.org. Create an account and let them know what catalogs you would like to discontinue receiving. They will then contact the retailer on your behalf. Using this method could take up to 12 weeks. Your catalog also may not be a member of their service, but they are adding more all the time. Advantage: centralized location to stop your catalogs, increasing selection of online catalogs, interactive community.

Depending on the number of catalogs you currently receive, this task may be time consuming. Be patient and keep at it because in the long run it will be worth it when you stop receiving unwanted catalogs.
